In the spring of 1998,
the School of Architecture
Media Center was renamed
as the C. Murray Smart
Media Center in honor of
former Dean C. Murray
Smart. Murray has long
been a champion of the
Media Center, lending
his support to the
enhancement of the facility. Although officially retired, he continues to enjoy teaching the Intro to Architecture course for non-majors.

Christine Hilker has been the Director of the C. Murray Smart Media Center since
1979. She attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, where she earned a B.A. in History and a M.Ed in Instructional Resources. Since that time, she has completed additional coursework in photography and architectural history.
Chris' professional service includes a three-year term as national treasurer (1991-1993) and a two-year term as Public Relations and Communications Officer (2004-2006) of the Visual Resources Association . She also established a listserv for the VRA and served as its moderator from 1991 until 2002. |
John Hickey is the Assistant Director in charge of audiovisual equipment and software in the C. Murray Smart Media Center and the school's facilities. He has a B.A. degree in Art and has taught in the public schools. His area of interest is digital photography with special expertise in Photoshop.
