College faculty have written textbooks used in classrooms
both in the U.S. and abroad, on subjects ranging from campaign finance
reform to the roots of Western traditional music and the concepts
underlying the study of physics. Below is a sampling of such scholarly
efforts some faculty have written the introductions to major
anthologies, while others have been important contributors to classroom
texts. The research and writing of these teachers and scholars have
enriched not only their fields, but the knowledge that society needs
to carry universities and students into the future.
