the College's general scholarships listed below.
The Dean's Office will accept applications beginning January
15th and continuing through the March 15 deadline.
PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT APPLICATIONS BEFORE JANUARY 15.
Dean Robbin C. Anderson Scholarship
Non-renewable. Awarded on a competitive basis to students transferring
into the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences from an Arkansas
junior or community college
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be currently listed in the top 10% of your
class and planning to transfer to Fulbright College in the fall.
AMOUNT: Varies; approximately $500 to $1000 per academic year.
MATERIALS REQUIRED: Complete the Fulbright College application
form by March 15; also by March 15, send these additional
materials to the Dean's Office: a brief letter to the Dean summarizing
your reasons for wanting to transfer, your intended major
or field of study, at least two letters of recommendation
from instructors at your community college, and a copy of your
community college transcript. You must have already applied and
been admitted to the U of A for the upcoming summer or fall term.
Bunn and Louise Bell Endowed Scholarship
QUALIFICATIONS: Awarded to entering freshmen based on financial
need and good academic standing. Preference given to graduates of
Fayetteville High School and Arkansas high school graduates with
a 3.0 GPA or above. Must be enrolled or planning to enroll full-time
in the College; scholarship is renewable with 2.75 GPA and continued
full-time enrollment.
TO APPLY: Must complete Fulbright College scholarship application
by March 15.
AMOUNT: Varies, from $500 to $1000 per academic year.
Carney "Butch" Carroll Endowed
Scholarship
QUALIFICATIONS: Provides financial assistance to senior
pre-law students majoring in history or political science. Students
must have a strong academic record and leadership abilities, as
well as an ethnic, cultural, or national background that contributes
to diversity on campus.
TO APPLY: Complete Fulbright College scholarship application by
March 15.
AMOUNT: Varies, pays from partial to full tuition.
Luther & Edna Estelle Scholarship
Available to freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors
QUALIFICATIONS: Must show financial need and must be residents of
Arkansas or native Arkansans, rank in the top 25% of high school
class, be enrolled or planning to enroll full-time in Fulbright
College, and maintain a 2.5 GPA.
TO APPLY: Complete College general scholarship application by March
15.
AMOUNT: Varies, from $500 to $1000 per academic year.
Frances Greer and Herman Harrison Hankins
Scholarship
An award based on financial need and continued good academic standing;
available to entering freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors.
QUALIFICATIONS: Students must be native Arkansans and graduates
of an Arkansas high school with at least a 3.0 high school GPA,
must demonstrate financial need, and must be degree-seeking students
in the College. To renew, students must maintain 3.0 GPA.
TO APPLY: Complete the College general scholarship application by
March 15.
A.C. & M.B. Jennings Scholarship
Awards based on financial need and academic merit
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be enrolled full-time in Fulbright College
and be of sophomore rank or above.
TO APPLY: Complete College general scholarship application by March
15.
AMOUNT: Varies, from $500 to $1000.
James Spencer, Jr. Memorial Scholarship
Non-renewable. Awarded on a competitive basis to freshmen entering
the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences.
QUALIFICATIONS: Arkansas residents at the time of high school graduation;
enrolled or planning to enroll in Fulbright College
MATERIALS REQUIRED: A brief letter to the Dean, including information
about yourself and your qualifications for the scholarship. Must
complete and return College general scholarship application by March
15 along with three letters of recommendation from high school
instructors and a copy of high school transcript at the end of the
spring semester.
AMOUNT: Varies, from $500 to $1000
Marion A. Steele Scholarship
QUALIFICATIONS: For Fulbright sophomores, juniors, and seniors who
demonstrate financial need and academic merit.
TO APPLY : Complete and return College general scholarship application
by March 15.
AMOUNT: Varies, from $500 to $1000 per academic year.
J. Harry & Catherine Wood Scholarship
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be native Arkansan and of either
junior or senior ranking, majoring in English, geography, geology,
history, mathematics, or physics. Must be in good academic standing,
in top 25% of class, and demonstrate financial need.
TO APPLY: Complete College general scholarship application by March
15.
