Electronic Mail
Electronic mail (email) is not a confidential form of communication. In order to ensure confidentiality and protect your privacy, clinical services cannot be provided through email. Clinical services include counseling, psychotherapy, testing, consultation, and group therapy. Scheduling, confirming, and cancelling appointments are also included. All clients are advised to contact CAPS by telephone or in person regarding clinical services, clinical questions, and appointments.
The University Health Center
adopted this policy in 1999 to prevent risk to clients, breach of security,
breach of confidentiality, and to assure compliance with ethical and legal
standards of health care delivery. Throughout the University Health Center,
this policy applies to medical, counseling, psychological, health promotion,
nursing, laboratory, x-ray, pharmacy, and nutrition services.
