Power plants don't need roads
Power plants that have to be replaced will be replaced automatically if disasters are off
After you can afford to build non-polluting power plants, demolish the old ones
Meltdowns (nuclear and fusion) and fires (microwave) occur when disasters are off; nuclear meltdowns spread radiaton, but fusion meltdowns do not
HydroElectric plants must be placed on a waterfall. If you do not have one already (from editing the map first), you will need to raise terrain for $25 and place water for $100
Windmills take up a lot of space, reducing area for greater population
Solar plants need sunny days to work
Every 3 developed tiles use about 1 megawatt of power.

Zoning must be 3-4 tiles from a road
Residential zones can remain empty without nearby commercial (even if they're not asking for it)
Using only dense residential will mean a higher population and dense commercial will eventually yield historical buildings
Most buildings (other than zoning) don't need roads (bus depots DO) including arcologies, airports, and seaports
Bus depots help with traffic and pollution
Check water to see if it's fresh or salt (may need desalinazation plant)
Reduce pollution by passing pollution control ordinance and by adding parks, trees, and a water treatment plant
If you demolish your statue, you will be given another
Lowering and raising terrain can easily blow up nearby buildings
Unused roads still cost money in maintenance
Put water pipes under roads to connect up the water system (turn off roads while in underground view)
