The Fayetteville Animal Shelter and Animal Services are supported by the City of Fayetteville and are dedicated to the welfare of animals and the people who associate with them. Washington County as well as several communities in the county have agreements with Fayetteville for sheltering or euthanasia. Although the two organizations cooperate, there is no connection between the Fayetteville Animal Shelter and the Humane Society of the Ozarks. The Humane Society of the Ozarks, well-known for its many fundraisers, does not operate a shelter.
To bring in or surrender an animal to the Shelter, please make an appointment to make sure there will be room available. It is necessary to keep space for strays picked up or for quarantine in case of bites.
