The Shelter's Spay and Neuter Program
Under Arkansas law, all dogs and cats adopted from shelters must be
spayed or neutered (this was the policy of the Fayetteville Animal
Shelter even before it became the law). As you
probably know, the fee for adopting a pet from the Fayetteville Animal Shelter includes spaying
or
neutering.
Sometimes the dog or cat will already have been spayed or neutered. If
not, the adopter will receive a certificate to have the surgery done at
no additional cost by a
participating veterinarian.
If you already have a dog or cat that you would like to spay or neuter,
the Humane Society of the Ozarks
(HSO) has a spay/neuter program that may help.
