Delta Branch Experiment Station
The mission of the Delta Branch Experiment Station is to supply agricultural technology adaptable to farmers' use in the northern Mississippi River Delta region. The 80-acre station (established in 1939) is located in the northern part of Crittenden County about two miles north of Clarkedale on Arkansas Highway 77. The dominant soil type at the station is Dundee silt loam, a major soil type used for cotton production. Research at the Delta Branch Experiment Station focuses on the major crops of the region with primary emphasis on cotton.
