Zoology (ZOOL) Requirements for the B.S. degree with a major in zoology: A minimum of 124 semester hours is required, including 40 hours in the major as specified below.
The Fulbright College writing requirement must be met from courses that require a paper, BIOL 498V Senior Thesis, or by an honors thesis. Requirements in the cognate science and mathematics include the following:
Requirements for a minor in zoology: Students must take BIOL 1543/1541L or equivalent. In addition, 18 semester hours of zoology and biology courses are required, with at least one course in each of the three general areas outlined the requirements for a B.S. degree in zoology (morphological and developmental zoology, systematic and evolutionary zoology, and regulatory and environmental zoology). Students must notify the departmental chair of their intent to minor in zoology.
