ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants for admission as candidates for the Master of Laws (LL.M.) in agricultural law must have earned a J.D. or LL.B. degree from a fully accredited school in the United States. Graduates from a law school in another country will be admitted only in exceptional circumstances upon the approval of the Graduate Legal Studies Committee. All applicants should demonstrate a degree of academic excellence, evidenced by high academic standing, law review membership, or other educational, research or professional achievement, indicating potential for success in
graduate study.

Each applicant for admission must complete an application form and admission statement and arrange for official copies of transcripts of grades from all post-secondary educational institutions attended (undergraduate, graduate, and law) to be sent to the Director of the Agricultural Law Program. Three letters of recommendation from individuals who can attest to the applicant's academic and professional abilities must also be sent to the Director. For those applicants still in law school, we require that at least two of these letters come from current law professors. Applicants who have received their J.D. should provide one letter from a former law professor. The Graduate Legal Studies Committee will make all admissions decisions and may, in appropriate cases, condition a candidate's admission as the Committee deems appropriate.
