1013 Keyboarding I (Fa, Sp) Enables beginners to master typewriter keyboard; emphasizes developing typewriting techniques as foundation for skill development. Learning experiences--using typewriting skill, knowledge, understanding--to solve typewriting problems pertaining to student's personal needs. (Non-degree credit for students in business
administration.)

1213 Shorthand I (Fa, Sp) Imparts thorough knowledge of principles. Emphasis on developing initial skill in reading/writing from textbook and related material. New material dictation in form of related textbook material gradually incorporated with unfamiliar dictation until taking and transcribing new material on typewriter. Prerequisite: OFSM 1013 or equivalent. (Non-degree credit for students in business administration.)

1323 Shorthand II (Fa, Sp) Continues OFSM 1213 with emphasis on broadening shorthand vocabulary used in business and professional offices. Emphasis on building speed in taking new matter dictation and producing quality transcripts on word processing equipment. Prerequisite: OFSM 1213 or equivalent.

2023 Keyboarding II (Fa, Sp) Emphasizes applying acquired typewriting skills and knowledge to planning, organizing, typewriting variety of production problems with vocational speed and efficiency. Also includes orientation on word processing equipment. Prerequisite: OFSM 1013 or equivalent.

2533 Administrative Office Procedures (Sp) Develops understanding of office problems and analytical thought about solutions; emphasizes operational and managerial competencies needed by college-education secretary to function as professional executive secretary and administrative assistant. Prerequisite: OFSM 2023, CISQ 2232, or instructor's consent.

2703 Electronic Office Applications (Fa) Provides hands-on applications of popular software packages including word processing, financial applications, file management, graphics, networking, and telecommunications. Prerequisite: CISQ 2232.

3433 Word Processing Concepts and Careers (Fa, Sp, Su) Introduces student to total concept of word processing as it relates to administrative services and machine technology in the modern business office and organization. Prerequisite or Corerequisite: OFSM 2023; Prerequisite: permission of instructor.

3533 Developing Multimedia Applications (Fa, Sp) Designed for students to learn and use the major technology features of multimedia including data, audio, and video. Focuses on using an authoring system to develop business applications such as training, product promotion, reference, information kiosks, and desktop presentations. Prerequisite: OFSM 3433.
