GRADUATION AWARDS AND HONORS

At the law school graduation ceremony each spring, several monetary and book awards are given to graduating seniors (including mid-year graduates)

Outstanding Academic Achievement Prize -- awarded by the Niblock Law Firm, Fayetteville, in the amount of
$500 to the graduate ranking first in the graduating class.

W.J. Arnold Memorial Award for Academic Achievement -- awarded to the graduate ranking second in the graduating class.

Jim G. Ferguson, Sr. Award -- provides a cash prize for UA law students graduating with honors and high honors.

West Publishing Co. Award -- to the graduate making the greatest contribution to scholarship.

West Publishing Co. Award -- to the graduate making the outstanding contribution to Law School publications.

Medico Legal Prize -- awarded to the outstanding graduate in health law course work.

Craig Sterne Memorial Award -- to the outstanding graduate in Estate Planning and Taxation.

Joe C. Barrett Award -- to the outstanding graduate in Commercial Transaction course work.

T.C. & Rosemary Carlson Memorial Award -- to the outstanding graduate in Constitutional Law.

The Jeff Starling Award -- for the outstanding graduate in labor and employment law.

Trial Advocacy Prize -- awarded by the Bassett Law Firm, Fayetteville, in the amount of $400 to the graduate or graduates excelling in trial advocacy competitions.

Appellate Advocacy Prize -- awarded by the law firm of Davis, Cox & Wright, Fayetteville, in the amount of $400 to the graduate or graduates excelling in appellate advocacy competitions.

Dean's Award for Contribution to the Law School Community -- to the graduate who has made the greatest contribution through service to the Law School community.
