"NINE-HOUR" J.D. STUDENTS

A student at the University of Arkansas School of Law who is within nine hours of completing the total credit hours required for the J.D. degree may, while simultaneously completing the remaining credits for the J.D. degree, earn additional credits to be applied toward the LL.M. degree. Before credits may be applied toward the LL.M. degree, the student must:

1. obtain approval of the courses from the Director of the Agricultural Law Program;

2. designate that the courses are to be applied toward an LL.M. degree; and

3. earn a grade of 2.75 or higher in each of the courses selected.

Satisfying these conditions does not assure admission to the candidacy for the LL.M. degree. A student will not be admitted to candidacy for the LL.M. degree until the J.D. degree has been awarded and all other conditions of admission have been met. The student will be required to meet all admission requirements and will be evaluated on the same basis as other applicants for admission into the program. Upon admission to candidacy for the LL.M. degree, the student must complete all degree requirements (including the writing requirement) applicable to all LL.M. candidates. No courses taken to satisfy the minimum number of hours of course work (currently 90) for the J.D. degree may be applied toward the LL.M. degree.
