DEGREE REQUIREMENTS GENERALLY

To receive a Master of Laws degree in agricultural law a candidate must: 1) complete a total of 24 semester hours of credit (including master's thesis hours when the thesis option is elected) and 2) maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 2.75 or higher (on a 4.00 scale).

Candidates ordinarily will enter the program at the beginning of the fall semester. However, mid-year admission may be permitted in exceptional circumstances upon approval of the Graduate Legal Studies Committee. Each degree candidate is usually expected to enroll in a minimum of eight semester hours during each semester in residence (excluding summer sessions) and may not enroll for more than 15 hours in any semester without the approval of the Director of the Graduate Agricultural Law Program. Normally, course work for the LL.M. will be completed within two semesters.

Up to six hours of course work applicable to the LL.M. degree requirements may be taken during a summer session. Only elective courses from the J.D. curriculum and thesis credits are likely to be available during summer sessions. The courses listed below ordinarily will be offered only during the regular semesters.

Prior to or during the first semester in residence, each degree candidate must elect either the thesis or non-thesis option.
