Academic Regulations for Elementary Education Majors and Others Seeking
Admission to Upper Division Courses
Stage 1:
* Enroll in the undergraduate B.S.E. Degree Program in Elementary Education
* Complete 45 or more program hours
* Obtain a grade of "C" or better in CIED 1002 and CIED 1011 (Introduction
to Education/Practicum) and in MATH 1203 (or higher)
* Establish a GPA of 2.70 or better
* Successfully pass the PRAXIS I
Stage II: Apply for screening in February for eligibility to
enroll in upper division course work the next semester by meeting the
above requirements: grades, GPA, PRAXIS I, sitting for a writing sample,
attending an interview.
Stage III: Students are admitted to upper division classes based
on successful completion of the above and maintenance of 2.7 or better
GPA.
