Kattie Wing serves as the Interim Director of Financial Aid for the University of Arkansas (U of A) and reports to Provost Bob Smith. In this position, she has responsibility for directing and managing the student financial assistance programs, which provide assistance to 60% of U of A students. She directs the efforts of a staff of twenty individuals who are responsible for counseling current and prospective students and their families about removing financial barriers to a U of A education, processing applications for financial assistance, and monitoring scholarships, grants, student loans and student employment.

Kattie served as secondary high school counselor (1984-1987) prior to coming to the University of Arkansas. She received her Master’s Degree in Counseling from the U of A in 1987. Kattie has received awards from Sallie Mae twice as Financial Aid Administrator of the Year for her outstanding work in student loans. Kattie also received Mapping Your Future Excellence Award for work designing a national online entrance, exit counseling and career information for future post secondary students and recipients of FFELP loans.
