GROWTH HABIT and RATE:
Evergreen groundcover or vine, some adult types are mounding woody, evergreen shrubs.

ADAPTABILITY:
In northern exposures, protect from winter wind and sun to reduce desiccation of foliage.

FUNCTIONS:
Groundcover, vine, foundation shrub (adult selections). Climbs by aerial rootlets. Usage in the north is cultivar dependent, usage in the south is limited by scale and other diseases.

PROBLEMS AND MAINTENANCE:
Euonymus scale is a serious problem in some areas that limits use of this plant; regular spraying may be required. Not recommended for use in our area since it spreads easily from cultivation into surrounding wooded areas.
