Flowers: Small white flowers in the axils of the leaves in spring. Dioecious.
Foliage: Glossy, dark green, evergreen leaves with downward pointing spines (or none in some cultivars).
Fruit: Red berries on female plants, ripening in fall, attractive through winter. Some females are parthenocarpic and bear fruit without a pollinator.
Location: Numerous locations on the University of Arkansas campus. Two mass plantings on the west side of the Law School, near the sidewalk on Garland.
