GROWTH HABIT, RATE:
Dense, rounded evergreen shrub, rapid growth, normally wider than high.
ADAPTABILITY:
Fruits best in full sun, drought and heat tolerant.
FUNCTIONS:
Specimen, screen, hedge, a good plant for a difficult location.
PROBLEMS AND MAINTENANCE:
Requires good soil fertility for consistent, annual fruiting. Scale
insects will feed on plants and may require spraying. 'Burfordii' reverts
to the species occasionally.

'Burfordii'-vigorous, upright cultivar, reaching 15 feet, single spine at apex

compact selection of 'Burfordii'. There are many other cultivars mentioned in
Dirr. This is an extremely popular holly in the South.
