GROWTH HABIT, RATE: ADAPTABILITY:
Small tree or large shrub, with many horizontal branches, has a tendency
to sucker and form thickets.
ADAPTABILITY:
Found in floodplain forests in nature, tolerates wet soils. pH adaptable.
FUNCTIONS:
Border, screen, massing, hedge, naturalizing.
PROBLEMS AND MAINTENANCE:
Occasional leaf spot, normally problem free. Pruning needed to maintain
a dense screen.

Eastern United States, Arkansas native plant

'Red Cascade'- branching creates a weeping effect, abundant red berries.
'Byers Golden'-bears yellow fruit.
