Flowers: Large and dangling, starfish-like dark red flowers in late April and early May. Not fragrant.

Foliage: Medium green, whorled, fragrant when crushed.

Fruit: Small, star-shaped fruit.

 

Location: Horticulture Display Garden, near Maple Street (best looking specimen).
