American Holly

Flowers: Small white flowers in late spring, not showy. Dioecious.

Foliage: Dull to dark yellow green; some selected cultivars have lustrous, dark green leaves.

Fruit: Red berries on female plants, ripening in the fall and persisting into the winter.

 

Location: Two large plants on the south side of Old Main. A male and a female plant side by side.
