Flowers: Small white dioecious flowers in mid spring, on last season's growth, not showy.

Foliage: Evergreen, small, shiny, medium to gray-green.

Fruit: Small, bright red berries on female plants, ripening in fall and persisting through winter.

Trunk, Branching, Twigs: Attractive light bark on older limbs and trunk.

Location: Both compact and large cultivars are found at the corners of the Physics Research building.
