GROWTH HABIT, RATE: ADAPTABILITY:
Clump forming, spreading evergreen, spreads rapidly.
ADAPTABILITY:
Tolerant to soil if well-drained. Will grow in sun or shade. Heat and
salt tolerant.
FUNCTIONS:
Groundcover, edging.
PROBLEMS AND MAINTENANCE:
No serious insect or disease problems. Can be mowed in late winter
to remove old foliage. Overused?

SUBSPECIES, VARIETIES, CULTIVARS:
'Vareigata'-leaves have a creamy white margin.
'Big Blue'-popular form, wide dark green leaves.
Liriope spicata and Ophiopogon japonicus are two other related
species with similar uses.
