Flowers: White flowers with prominent yellow stamens, opening in June.
Foliage: Delicate, doubly-pinnate compound leaves. Bluish-green in color. Some cultivars, especially the dwarf selections, have attractive red coloration in the fall and winter.
Fruit: Red berries ripening in the fall and persisting through the winter. White and yellow fruited forms exist.
Trunk, Branching, Twigs: Stems do not branch and have a vague resemblance to bamboo.
Location: A common plant on the University of Arkansas campus. Plants can be found on the south side of the Home Economics building.
