GROWTH HABIT, RATE:
Rounded, spreading shrub, usually as broad as tall.
ADAPTABILITY:
Moist, well-drained soils, high in organic material. Full sun. Salt tolerant.
FUNCTIONS:
Informal hedge, mass planting, container use.
PROBLEMS AND MAINTENANCE:
Leaf spot in areas with high relative humidity. Not suitable in Fayetteville,
but survives in Little Rock.
NATIVE RANGE:
Japan and Korea.

SUBSPECIES, VARIETIES, CULTIVARS: 'Minor'- compact form, 'Bay Breeze'- dark
pink flowers, 'Blueberry Muffin'- compact form, dark blue fruit, white flowers.
Rhaphiolepis indica is similar and many of the cultivars could be derived
from either species.
