GROWTH HABIT, RATE:
Fast growing southern pine, pyramidal when young, becoming open and spreading
with age.
ADAPTABILITY:
Very tolerant of poor soils and sites. Requires full sun. Grows best in acid
soil.
FUNCTIONS:
Specimen, massing, screen, shade tree.
PROBLEMS AND MAINTENANCE:
Usually none serious, borers or pine beetles occasionally.
