Bald Cypress

Flowers: Monoecious, not significant, in spring.

Foliage: Bright yellow green in spring, medium green in summer, yellow brown fall color, alternate arrangement (contrast with Metasequoia).

Fruit: Globular cones ripening in one year.

Trunk, Branching, Twigs: Buttressing of trunk, production of "knees" in wet sites.

 

Location: An attractive mass planting at the end of the mall near the Fulbright fountain (south end), near Bell. A single large specimen in front of Memorial Hall.
