GROWTH HABIT, RATE:
Spreading or upright, spreading, dependent on cultivar selected. Crown erect
or flattened, broad or narrow.
ADAPTABILITY:
Moist, well drained sandy loam, for use. Must have good drainage, best conifer
for shade. Tolerates city conditions, tolerates extensive pruning. Watch planting
depth with new installations.
FUNCTIONS:
Screen, hedge, specimen, foundation, border.
PROBLEMS AND MAINTENANCE:
Poor soil drainage will kill plant; black vine weevils, deer like this plant.
