GROWTH HABIT, RATE:
Spreading, arching habit, to 10 feet where top hardy. Fast growing. Killed to
the ground in winter in zones 4-6 (some winters), recovers quickly.
ADAPTABILITY:
Full sun, moist well-drained soils.
FUNCTIONS:
Shrub border, massing.
PROBLEMS AND MAINTENANCE:
Can be pruned to the ground in late winter, flowers on new growth. Considered
an invasive plant in certain areas such as the Pacific Northwest. Remove spent
flowers to prevent self-seeding and to prolong bloom time.

SUBSPECIES, VARIETIES, CULTIVARS:
B. x weyeriana (globosa x davidii) are the yellow
flowered hybrids. Many cultivars of B. davidii are available,
