Red-twigged Dogwood

Flowers: Small, white in terminal clusters in May or June.

Foliage: Medium green, dense; reddish fall color. Most commonly seen cultivar has variegated foliage.

Fruit: Flattened clusters of white fruits.

Trunk, Branching, Twigs: Twigs of current season growth turn bright red in late winter.

 

Location: Next to the south door of the Plant Sciences Building.
