GROWTH HABIT, RATE:
Large, upright and spreading shrub, fast grower.
ADAPTABILITY:
Moist, well-drained soil, salt tolerant. Requires sun or partial shade, urban
tolerant.
FUNCTIONS:
Shrub border, specimen (not recommended).
PROBLEMS AND MAINTENANCE:
Flowers on new growth, can remove spent flowers after bloom as some consider
unattractive. No significant
problems.

SUBSPECIES, VARIETIES, CULTIVARS:
'Grandiflora'- PeeGee hydrangea, common in trade.
'Tardiva'- Flowers later than others, September.
Newer cultivars entering marketplace are more refined and can be used as small
trees or large shrubs.
