Common Crapemyrtle

Flowers: Clusters of white, pink, rose, red or purple flowers at the ends of new growth. Begins to bloom in mid June and continues to September.

Foliage: New leaves are reddish bronze, changing to dark green. Fall color is yellow to orange to light red.

Fruit: Capsule, persists through winter, compare to Philadelphus.

Trunk, Branching, Twigs: Smooth trunk with attractive exfoliation. Do not butcher crapemyrtle, allow the trunk character to develop.
