GROWTH HABIT, RATE:
Upright and spreading, usually wider than high, long arching branches. Fast
growing.
ADAPTABILITY:
Moist, well-drained soil, sun or shade. May require some protection in the north.
FUNCTIONS:
Foundation, screen, shrub border. Becomes large with age and needs room.
PROBLEMS AND MAINTENANCE:
At northern edge of range, may lose foliage and flower buds in winter.
