GROWTH HABIT, RATE:
Slow growth rate, upright oval to oval and rounded.
ADAPTABILITY:
Adaptable to varied soils, moist well drained, but will grow in clay, pH adaptable,
full sun.
FUNCTIONS:
Patio tree, specimen.
PROBLEMS AND MAINTENANCE:
No serious diseases. Judicious pruning to expose trunk and limb exfoliations.

SUBSPECIES, VARIETIES, CULTIVARS:
To date little selection has been made due to propagation difficulties. Seed
propagation has become more commonplace in recents years and selection for habit
and exfoliation should be possible. Several hybrids between this species and
other maples have been made.
