Flowers: Monoecious, in spring, not ornamental.

Foliage: Dark green, clean, remaining green late into fall; occasional yellow fall color.

Fruit: Fruits are pendulous with three lobed bracts (good I.D. clue).

Trunk, Branching, Twigs: Smooth gray bark, darker than beech.

 

Location: Next to Kimple Hall (south side).
