Flowers: Monoecious, in spring, not ornamental.

Foliage: Light green in spring, turning dark green in summer, reddish-orange fall color.

Fruit: Fruits are pendulous with three lobed bracts (good I.D. clue).

Trunk, Branching, Twigs: Slate gray bark, sinuous and muscular appearing.

 

Location: On the Old Main mall, near the northeast corner of Old Main.
