Flowering Dogwood

Flowers: True flowers are greenish yellow, insignificant. They are surrounded by showy white or pink bracts in early to mid April.

Foliage: Bronze to yellow green when unfolding, dark green in summer. Fall color is reddish-purple and consistent from year to year.

Fruit: Glossy red, ripening in Sept./Oct., attractive to birds.

Trunk, Branching, Twigs: Tiered, horizontal branching.

 

Location: At the southeast corner of the Graduate Education building (this is the cultivar 'Cloud 9'). Numerous other locations around the University of Arkansas.
