Sweetgum

Flowers: Greenish-yellow in tight rounded clusters in early to mid spring.

Foliage: Star shaped leaves, pale green in spring, turn dark green in summer. Lustrous and leathery. Yellow/bronze/red/purple fall colors.

Fruit: Globose, spiny ball.

Trunk, Branching, Twigs: Silvery gray bark, twigs are corky winged.

 

Location: The northwest corner of the Administration building. Numerous examples on campus.
