Sawtooth Oak

Flowers: Monoecious, male catkins are yellow in early spring.

Foliage: Pale green when emerging, becoming dark green in summer. Yellow to brown late fall color.

Fruit: Acorn, involucre has wide spreading scales. Favorite turkey food.

 

Location: At the northeast corner of Parking Lot 44 (corner of Maple and Stadium).
