GROWTH HABIT, RATE:
Pyramidal when young, upright and oval when mature, if unpruned will branch to the ground.

Moist, well drained fertile soil, full sun. pH adaptable, tolerates city conditions.

FUNCTIONS:
Shade or street tree, can be pruned into a hedge.

PROBLEMS AND MAINTENANCE:
Japanese beetles favor this tree and can defoliate it. Does not like warm summer nights. Aphids.
