GROWTH HABIT, RATE:
Upright and rounded habit, medium growth rate. The tree on campus vaguely resembles
the vase-shape form of the American Elm.
ADAPTABILITY:
Best growth in moist, well-drained soil, but is often found in dry, rocky sites
in Fayetteville. Drought tolerant.
FUNCTIONS:
Shade tree.
PROBLEMS AND MAINTENANCE:
Dutch Elm disease. Mildew.
