GUIDELINES FOR IMAGES FOR HOMER AND ART ESSAY
For the HOMER AND ART essay, I want to know what images you use for your discussion.
You may:
1) photocopy pictures from the Lexicon Iconographicum Mythologiae Classicae (Mullins),
2) print images from Perseus,
3) print images from Beazley Archives.
The Beazley materials carry dire warnings about duplication and reproduction. I do not think that if you simply print one of the images you will be prosecuted. I think that the Archive is worried about people digitally copying their images and putting them on hard drives, websites, etc.
However, if you are leery of printing copywritten material, and do not want to print up the Beazley ARchive image, you may still use the Beazley image to write your paper, but instead of handing in with your paper the actual printed imag, you may instead hand in: 1) The Beazley Number of the vase(s) you use, 2) The URL of the site you got it from, and 3) The Catalog Description of the vase.
