Agricultural Communications

The Agricultural Communications program is designed to produce graduates with both technical knowledge about the food and fiber industry and communication skills to make that knowledge accessible to the general public.

The graduate will be prepared to use a variety of means (written to broadcast) to inform the public about agricultural information. In addition to courses in the sciences and in the many different areas of agriculture, students can choose from courses such as news and broadcast reporting, feature writing, public relations and photojournalism.

At the University of Arkansas, this field of study is offered as an area of concentration in the Department of Agricultural and Extension Education. The 124 hour program leads to a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Education, Communications and Technology.
