Andrew McKenzie is a native of South Shields, Tyne and Wear, England. He specializes in price risk management, futures and options markets, grain marketing, and applied time series analysis. He earned a B.Admin. (Honors) degree in Administrative Studies from the University of Dundee in 1988, a M.Sc. degree in Investment Analysis from Stirling University in 1990, and a Ph.D. in Economics from North Carolina State University in 1999. He joined the faculty of the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness at the University of Arkansas in December 1998.
Andrew’s current research interests include the role of transportation in grain marketing, price risk management strategies in poultry and grain markets, food safety issues, and the informational role played by financial and commodity markets in transmitting price signals. He has published 11 refereed journal articles, presented 12 selected papers at national conferences, reviewed 4 futures and options books, and he has reviewed 14 articles for various academic economic journals. His research relating to financial and futures market information and efficiency has been published in some of the most prestigious economics journals, including Journal of Applied Econometrics, American Journal of Agricultural Economics, and Journal of Futures Markets.
