Scholarships






The Scholarships listed below are awarded to students interested in a major within the Department of Crop, Soil, and Environmental Sciences (CSES). Forms for these scholarships are available upon request.

C. Roy Adair Scholarship 
Senior CSES major who ranks in the top one-fourth of his/her class.  Show financial need.  Possess leadership qualities.
Robert W. Anderson Scholarship  Awarded to a freshman seeking a degree in plant protection/pest management, Entomology or Weed Science.
Arkansas Agricultural Consultants Association Scholarship (Application PDF) Arkansas resident who is a junior or senior majoring in CSES, Entomology, Horticulture or Plant Pathology (pest management related majors).  Financial need considered.  Obtain special AACA application from Dean’s Office. 
Arkansas Crop Protection Association (Henry DeSalvo Memorial and Clay Hansen) Scholarship  Junior or Senior from Arkansas with an interest in pesticides majoring in either CSES, Entomology, Horticulture or Plant Pathology.
Arkansas Plant Food Educational Society (Woody Miley) Scholarship Two full tuition scholarships for Arkansas residents who are sophomores, juniors or seniors majoring in CSES interested in plant food industry, with at least a 3.0 GPA. Leadership, financial need and extracurricular activities considered.
Arkansas Seed Dealers Association Scholarship Sophomore, Junior or Senior CSES major interested in the seed industry.
R.P. & Mildred Kline Bartholomew Memorial Scholarship  Recipient must be an CSES major, show financial need and maintain a 3.0 GPA
Caviness Endowed Scholarship  Sophomore, Junior or Senior CSES majors who have interest in plant breeding, GPA of 3.0 or better; active in college extracurricular activities.
Sherman D. Cullum, Sr. Scholarship Sophomore, junior or senior CSES major.  Financial need more important than GPA so long as student is making satisfactory progress.
Eddie Davis Scholarship Sophomore, junior or senior CSES majors.
Fontaine R. Earle in Crop Science Scholarship  Junior, Senior or Graduate student majoring in Crop Science or Plant Chemistry.
Harold & Iva Hicks Scholarship  Undergraduate student majoring in either Agricultural Economics, CSES, Entomology, Human Environmental Sciences, or Plant Pathology.
Dale A. & Wilhelmina S. Hinkle Scholarship Junior or Senior CSES student with an interest in environmental science.
Dr. Sam Offutt Scholarship  Freshman majoring in CSES with good H.S. GPA and ACT of at least 24.
Charles A. Stutte Scholarship Junior or Senior majoring in CSES with GPA of at least 3.0.
Harvey A. & J.O. York  Outstanding Junior level student majoring in CSES with an interest in plant breeding.

The scholarships listed below are awarded to FRESHMEN enrolling in a major within the Department of Crop, Soil, and Enviornmental Sciences (CSES).

Robert W. Anderson Scholarship Freshman seeking a degree in Crop Management with a minor in perst management.
Arkansas Envirothon Scholarship In-coming freshman from the current winning state Envirothon team.
R.P. & Mildred Kline Bartholomew Memorial Scholarship Recipient must be a CSES major, show financial need, and maintain a 3.0 GPA
Paul & Irma Boyer Scholarship Freshman seeking a degree in Crop Management with a minor in perst management.
Delta Classic Scholarship Freshman with a minimum GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale. Highest preference is for freshmen from eastern Arkansas. Other freshmen may receive consideration.
Harold & Iva Hicks Scholarship Undergraduate student majoring in Agricultural Economics, CSES (Crop Management, Environmental, Soil, and Water Science) or Human Environmental Sciences.
Clifford Bruce Jacobs Endowed Scholarship Freshman with at least a 2.4 high school GPA. Highest preference is for a student graduating from DeWitt High School or Gillett High School.
Dr. Sam Offutt Scholarship Freshman majoring in CSES with a good high school GPA and ACT of at least 24. Include with your Bumpers Scholarship Application: a cover letter expressing your interest in CSES and your need; two letters of recommendation (mailed directly to Bumpers College from the person writing the letter).
Jacob R. & Carol D. Phillips Scholarship Freshman seeking a degree in Crop Management with a minor in pest management.
Charles A. Stutte Memorial Scholarship Freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior in CSES.

Other Scholarships, list below, are available through the Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food, and Life Sciences (CAFLS), but are not designated specifically for Crop Management or Environmental Soil and Water Science majors. Your scholarship application to the College makes you eligible both for the following general College awards and the above-memtioned scholarships designated for Crop, Soil, and Environmental Sciences majors.

Governor Homer M. Adkins Scholarship  Arkansas resident, Agriculture major.
Agriculture General Scholarship  Student in CAFLS.
Mr. & Mrs. Cy Carney Scholarship  Arkansas resident; scholastic ability with financial need in Agricultural majors.
Lester Elliot/Ozark Arts & Craft Scholarship  Any CAFLS student; preference given to members or former members of 4-H.
Luther & Edna Estelle Scholarship  Arkansas resident or born in Arkansas; full-time student on Fayetteville campus; top 25% in H.S. or current student with a 2.5 GPA  Must show need.
Dr. & Mrs. James Ewart Incoming Freshman with 2 or more years of high school FFA; selection also based on offices held in FFA, GPA & ACT.  Nominees should attend the state FFA convention in June to receive certificate & letter of scholarship notification.
Joseph F. Fleming Scholarship Student in CAFLS.
Romeo E. Short Memorial Scholarship  Sophomore, Junior, Senior; must take 30 hours per academic year and carry a 3.0 GPA
Beginning Scholars Scholarship  Incoming Freshman; No specific ACT score or GPA required; however this is usually for students with 32+ ACT for recruitment purposes or for 4-H record book winners in Achievement Citizenship and Leadership.
Daughters of Demeter Scholarship  Senior. Arkansas resident; at least a 3.0 GPA; show financial need; be active in college extra-curricular activities.
Bob Mills Memorial Scholarship  Agriculture major; must be from Washington County and show definite financial need.
B.C. Pickens Scholarship  Agriculture major with primary consideration given to student with ties to Pickens, AR.  Recipient must have a strong academic background; financial need; strong work ethic; good personality traits, and display excellent professional potential.
C.A. Vines - Alpha Gamma Rho Scholarship Freshman from agriculture background; leadership and scholastic skills; minimum H.S. GPA of 2.5; full-time with a 2.5 first semester GPA  Must have letter of recommendation from H.S. instructor, cooperative extension agent, or H.S. administrator.  Apply through AGR House.
Tom & Hazel Wright Scholarship  Based on academic performance and financial need.
Paul & Irma Boyer Scholarship  Freshman; full time student; prefer interest in pest management,; show financial need; student must have 2.5 GPA on first semester to receive second semester.
John I. Coley  Junior or Senior with intent of becoming a County Extension Agent; GPA of 3.0; show financial need.
College of Agriculture, Food and Life Science Alumni Scholarship  Senior with 3.0 or higher GPA; must have been active in University/College extracurricular activities.
Boys 4-H House Alumni Scholarship  Any CAFLS major.  Selection based on academics and need.
Lucille & Delton V. Maloch Scholarship  Academic record and financial need to be consideration; preference given to children of Cooperative Extension Service personnel.
Northwest Arkansas Tomato Growers Scholarship All CAFLS majors.
Orsheln Farm & Home Scholarship Freshman, resident of Washington County; member of FFA for four years in H.S.; have high academic performance in H.S.; demonstrate leadership, service-oriented, from rural or urban background; preference given to applicant with interest in family farm.
John Rust Foundation Scholarship  All CAFLS majors.
