The College of Education and Health Professions and the Office for Studies on Aging invite you to a reception honoring the winners of the fourth annual Aging Well! Writing Contest at 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, at Butterfield Trail Village, 1924 E. Joyce Blvd., Fayetteville. Please RSVP to Beth Saviers at bsaviers@uark.edu or 479-575-3208 by Dec. 1.
With the generous support of Bob and Louise Garnett, the College of Education and Health Professions’ Office for Studies on Aging sponsored a campuswide writing contest on the subject “Aging Well.” Twelve entries were received in a variety of forms. At the reception, winners will be announced and cash prizes awarded. In addition, the first-, second- and third-place winners will read their entries. Come support the Garnetts' wonderful endeavor and enjoy an afternoon of writing in its finest form. We look forward to seeing you there.

Heidi Kluess, assistant professor of kinesiology at the University of Arkansas, has received a grant of $82,000 from the National Institute on Aging to study how the sympathetic nervous system controls blood flow and blood pressure in women as they age. Read more »
