Marci Jennings

Marci Jennings is the daughter of Maurice and Sissy Jennings of Fayetteville, AR.  She earned her Animal Science degree summa cum laude at the University of Arkansas. While at the U of A, Marci was the Scholarship winner in the D.E. King Equine Program, co-manager of the Equine Pavilion, and co-developer of the spring and fall horse barn internships. Marci earned her M.S. in Animal Biology with an emphasis in equine reproductive physiology and endocrinology at the University of California, Davis. At UC Davis, her research explored the biological activity of recombinant equine follicle stimulating hormone for enhancing follicular growth and ovulation rate in mares. Marci was recently hired as the Equine Instructor and Extension Specialist at the University of Missouri in Columbia. Her responsibilities include teaching the undergraduate equine classes, supervising the horse research and teaching facility, and developing an extension program to be applied state-wide.

Erin Bogle

Erin Bogle was born and raised in Bentonville, Arkansas and have had horses all her life. She graduated from the University of Arkansas in May of 2003 with a Bachelors degree in Animal Science, and by October 2003 was in Ocala, Florida attending the 10 week Parelli School module. From there she began her professional journey in the Parelli University back in Ocala. Erin was invited into the 2-year program where she studied directly under Pat Parelli, Linda Parelli, Karen Rohlf, and Pat’s other top instructors. She also attended two Colt Starts taught by Pat Parelli and Rob McAuliffe and helped start two draft teams with Steve Bowers at the Parelli Center in Ocala, Florida. Erin is currently certified to teach Levels 1 and 2 and assess level 1. Erin has been actively instructing in NWA.
 

Evan Anderson

Evan AndersonEvan Anderson, a native of Virginia, began his college education at Virginia Tech. He later moved to Montana where he worked on a 75,000 acre cattle ranch. On his way back to Virginia he decided to stop in Fayetteville and visit family. He learned that Dr. Jack, who he knew from Virginia Tech, had begun another horse program at the University of Arkansas. After visiting with her he decided to move to Fayetteville to finish his college education and join the growing horse program. While at the U of A he was a member of Block and Bridle, Alpha Zeta Honors Society and the Equine Program Volunteers. After graduating in 2005 with a BS in Animal Science he accepted a position as Manager of Corner K Quarter Horses, owned by Dr. Luke and Cindy Knox. Among other racing champions, the Knox's were breeders of the 1997 All American Futurity winner named Falling in Love Again. Corner K Quarter Horses continues as one of the top producers of racing Quarter Horses, breeding top mares and stallions in the industry.


Kim Cole

Kim Cole earned her undergraduate degree at Virginia Tech where, among many other things, she was on the Horse Judging Team, coached by Dr. Nancy Jack. She earned her M.S. in Animal Science, and Ph.D. in Poultry Science at the University of Arkansas where she served as an Equine Program Volunteer for the D. E. King Equine Program. Dr. Cole was recently hired as the Equine Extension Specialist and Faculty Supervisor of the Ohio State University Equine Facility. Her extension responsibilities include the development of youth and adult outreach programs which address current issues faced by Ohio’s horse industry, with particular emphasis on science-based education. Dr. Cole’s current research focuses on the development of novel vaccine vectors against foreign antigens and their ability to elicit immune responses.

Susan Sullivan

Susan previously co-managed the equine pavilion with Marci Jennings before graduation, has two children in grade school, and still achieved her 4.0 GPA. This is why she was a King Scholarship winner. Susan has devoted much of her life to horses. Bringing training expertise (a gift, if you will) and real-world experience along with her, she proved to be a great assistant with classes.  Susan is the director/instructor of a brand new equine program at Colorado Northwestern Community College, in Colorado.

Melinda Norton

Melinda graduated with a degree in animal science from Fayetteville, Arkansas. She is the daughter of Cris l. Norton. Melinda was winner of the Jasper Springs Scholarship, U of A University Scholarship, and Walton Family Scholarship.
