CLBulletproof was donated by Charles and Linda Cline, owners of Char-lin Ranch, Cushing, OK.  Charles and Linda have bred more World Champion Buckskins than anyone else in the world. They are also noted for World Champion Palominos.

CL Bulletproof was sired by CL Lord Buckley, a 14 time IBHA/ABRA World Champion Halter Stallion. CL Lord Buckley also stood third at the AQHA World Show as a two year old.  CL Bulletproof will be herd sire for the D.E. King Equine Program. Look for his first foals in the 2006 sale!

The staff and students at D.E. King Equine Program are over-joyed to welcome Bullet to his new home.  If you would like to have a chance to purchase a quality equine yourself from the Charlin Ranch you might stop by their production sale October 23, 11:00 am.  You can request a catalog by mailing the Charlins at:  charlinok@aol.com

The Hobbs Trails Issues

The State Parks, Recreation and Travel Commission voted to leave the multi-use trail(s) open all year

with a 100ft. safety zone on each side of the trail where loaded weapons will be prohibited. The recommendation to all trail users will be to wear hunter orange during the time periods that Game and Fish requires it for hunters. I don’t know that this will be the actual wording of the motion in the minutes, but that’s the gist of it.

Trailer Safety Day

Visitors to the Trailer Safety Day this weekend at the Stone County Saddle Club arena

received practical and money-saving tips on how to make their livestock trailers safer. A variety of trailers served as the classroom for Randall Lovelace, teacher who led attendees through each trailer for the hands-on demonstration. Lovelace owns Whiteriver Trailer near Guion, AR and volunteered his time and expertise. Participants learned about DOT requirements for lights, safety chains for bumper-pulls and goosenecks, break-away trailer brakes, using red and white reflective tape effectively, checking shackle straps and bolts on axles, and more. The mini-clinic was presented as a community service of the Stone County Saddle Club and Horse Crazy 4H. Free maintenance booklets and other handouts are available from clinic organizer, Kathleen Weickhardt at (870)591-6212 and SCSC secretary, Gala Davis at (870)269-9796 or contact Randall Lovelace, Whiteriver Trailer (870)346-5169.

ANWARC HAS A WEBSITE!!!

Thanks to the efforts of Mr. Ron Hudson, from the Arabian Riders And Breeders Club,

we have been constructing a website during the summer. I say “we”, Ron has basically done the entire thing, with just a little input/information that I have provided. That being said, I guess you’d like the website address: http://anwarcclub.tripod.com. Now, keep in mind, it is still under construction, but we hope to add the Points information, possibly as a link, to the website, and we will try to update the Work Hours section on a timely basis. No promises, we’re new to this!

WHAT'S THE HERITAGE TRAIL?

The Heritage Trail includes the Butterfield Coach Trail, the Civil War troop movements, and the Trail of Tears in Arkansas.

The NWA Heritage Trail Plan will be a regional network of bicycle and pedestrian facilities that connects NW Arkansas citizens and visitors to our rich heritage, our recreational and cultural assets, a healthier lifestyle, and to each other.

By implementing a region-wide network of bike and pedestrian facilities, the public will have access to healthy and safe alternatives to automotive travel. This system will also provide opportunities to experience the historic and natural environments of the area. As a result, the overall quality of life, economy, and health of the region will be enhanced.
