Introduction & Acknowledgements
Fifty students in the Horse and Livestock Merchandising, and Equine Behavior and Training classes are working together to produce the 5th Annual Razorback Roundup Cattle, Tack and Horse Auction.  This event provides our students with a 'real world' opportunity as time is spent preparing individual project horses for the sale. This involves not only various aspects and levels of training and handling, but also strategic marketing and merchandising methods and techniques appropriate to the equine and livestock industries.

The D.E. King Equine Program is grateful to it's many generous supporters.  This page serves to introduce, acknowledge as well as thank those who have helped to make this program a success.  To those who have graciously shared their time, energy, knowledge, experience or donations; THANK YOU for helping our program continue to grow!

the Cover Artist

Allison Cantrell grew up with a pencil in her hand, according to her artist mother.   Allison has recently begun showing her artwork in juried shows and exhibits around the state.  Her pencil drawings have always been highly detailed displaying the most conservative form of realism.  Her favorite subject matter has always been that which involves the western/cowboy culture, a love she has inherited from her father.  The action of the rodeos, the expressions on a cowboy’s face, the craftsmanship of hand-tooled leather, and the immense presence of an intuitive horse all draw Allison to capture these images in her work - to find that perfect picture story that makes America great and unique.

Allison is a student of the D.E. King Equine Program from Batesville, AR., she is majoring in Animal Science with a minor in Equine Science.  Her career goal is to become a successful free-lance studio artist with the focus of her work being in western art.  If you are interested in contacting Allison regarding her work, she can be reached at: alcantr@uark.edu

We are pleased and honored to have the opportunity to share Allison's beautiful artwork on the Razorback Roundup Website!
